Registered Tenancies
Registered or Protected Tenancies are where the tenant has the right to remain in the property for life, or until they choose to move out. The rent level is set by the Rent Officer every two-years and we will organise rent increase applications, attend at the property to meet the Rent Officer and provide all required paperwork for the tenant or for their Housing Benefit needs.
This type of tenancy is not always fully understood and usually has different repair requirements and obligations than the more modern Assured Shorthold Tenancy. However, due to our experience in this field we can properly advise on all issues, including tenant succession rights where other relatives also live at the property.
As with Assured Shorthold Tenancies we will collect and monitor rental payments, arrange authorised property repairs as necessary and deal with any maintenance issues which may arise.
